My determination to get up at 6am on Saturday was strong enough, so I managed to accomplish what I wanted. Kind of…
I was lucky there was some snowfall and frost at night and clear sky in the morning. But even though I was there before sunrise, I wasn’t the first to visit Nendrum Monastic Site on Mahee Island that morning. Two visitors left their shoe-prints in the snow.
I was harder to photograph than I expected as rich people built houses and keep their yachts whichever direction you look. I didn’t want to have modern mansions in the pictures together with the ruins of buildings 1500 years old.
However, Machaoi chose a beautiful place for this monastery…
